Editorial policy

Fin & Fable aims to make aquarium information clear, careful and useful. We distinguish explanation from certainty, check details before publication and welcome specific corrections from readers.

Accuracy and clarity

We review articles for clear wording, sound explanations and claims that fit the subject. Where a recommendation depends on tank size, species, equipment or other conditions, we say so rather than presenting one approach as universal. We do not claim to have tested equipment or observed a tank unless the article says so truthfully.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial choices are made for reader relevance, not as a promise of positive coverage. Paid placements and material created with a partner are clearly labelled so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial content. A partnership does not guarantee an endorsement.

Corrections and illustrations

If you spot a possible error, use the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and make appropriate changes with clear wording. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when they are, they are identified as AI-generated and should not be treated as documentary photographs.
